We are honored to announce that the GrowDMD project was awarded the Poster Prize of the German Society for Social Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (DGSPJ) at the Congress for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine 2024 in Mannheim.
The award-winning poster presented key insights into the transition process from pediatric to adult care for young people living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Drawing from more than 75 qualitative interviews across Germany, Canada, and Italy, the project highlights the unique challenges adolescents with DMD face as they seek independence while managing increasing physical dependence.
GrowDMD brings together patients, families, healthcare professionals, and researchers with the goal of improving transitional care and developing practical resources and recommendations.
