From October 2–4, 2024, researchers, clinicians, individuals living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and their families gathered in Montreal, Canada, for the international GrowDMD meeting.

Held under the theme “Growing into Adulthood with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy,” the event focused on the transition to adult life for young people with DMD. Participants exchanged research findings, compared international perspectives, and worked together to develop new approaches to care, participation, and communication.

The program featured small-group work on cross-country data analysis, sessions on ethics and patient involvement, updates on emerging therapies, and personal stories from patients and families. Hosted by CHU Sainte-Justine in collaboration with international partners, GrowDMD provided a valuable platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and long-term collaboration.
